Are you interested in joining a small music (worship) group and playing a part in its growth and development ?
Pear Tree Church covers a small parish between Bitterne and Woolston in Southampton, and shares a vicar with St.Mark's Church, Woolston.
A small group of singers and musicians leads the music worship, with the aid of backing track CDs, on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month at 10am.
The 2nd Sunday is a communion service and the 4th Sunday is "All Age" morning worship with an informal style.
We currently use the "Mission Praise" and "BBC Songs of Praise" hymn books as our main source, with a mix of more traditional and contemporary music.
We would like to develop the repertoire, including a return to the use of some Taize and Iona music.
We do not hold regular rehearsals, but meet before the service (and know what songs we will do, in advance).
We are not musical perfectionists, but take our role in the leading of worship seriously, and feel we could make more difference with some extra members to support us and enjoy participating.
Our group would like to hear from anyone who feels they could enjoy singing or playing with us, and could support this small Church by sharing their musical talents.
If you feel God could use you in this way, please contact Vanessa Wilkinson on 02380 441442 or email [email protected]
